i refuse to believe that
as he gives no explanation as to WHY the thrown out votes would be overwhelmingly democratic and 54% black.

i understand you could say "corruption" but you can't exactly hide that

and bush won the popular vote fair and square, which is enough to prove this country is pathetic, in my opinion.

It's all well and good to finger voter corruption again in this election, as I have no doubt there was fraud, but really, what is the point? It is possible that if almost 70% of the uncounted votes swung Democrat, Kerry might have won the state of Ohio. But all evidence in the counting of the votes showed that both the black and youth demographics, predicted to tend left, were far more Republican than anticipated. And the basis of this article is exit polling, which is both highly unreliable and subjective, and also focuses on a small percentage of voters, making the results irratic and highly different from the reality of the vote, especially in swing states. Therefore, all of the information this article uses as "truth" is merely a slightly informed opinion, fueled by this guy's partisan rancor.

In my opinion, any Democrat worth his salt should stop wasting his time bemoaning spilt milk. I am as devasted about this election as any serious liberal, but I believe my job now is to pick myself up and DEAL with this result, for better or for worse. This is also a great opportunity for the Democratic party to figure out why they have continually lost their political clout over the past four years... and to rebuild our party.

On a lighter note, I really liked what that guy wrote, it was very insightful :)

Yeah. I couldn't believe a guy from Harpers magazine wrote that. It was almost juvenile... i mean, the last election was definitely shady, but this one was clear cut, and thats what made it so scary!

as much as i would appreciate succession, I don't think we need another civil war at the moment... although, i could see a certain irony in that...
