music: Track 04

this for celia and karla (and anyone else interested),
"HOW-TO: Get music OFF your iPod"

also, for music purchased from the iTunes music store, read this article, although it's no good if you have itunes 6 (yet).

"should be part of the basic functionality of a portable music player" indeed. this makes me love my iriver.

your iriver won't fit in my pocket, though.

when i bought my ipod, i heavily considered iriver but size won out over functionality. plus i just like the ipod's interface better. and now I've got linux on mine.

everyone is always tlaking about the interface omg whateverrrr
so i'm not into the whole mac vs pc battle and sure i think ipods are cute but seriously, i could not buy a product that was built on the premise that i could not be trusted. mp3 players are portable hard disks, let me use them as such, you know?
this linuxification is interesting and i've seen some other good workarounds but i'd rather buy something i didn't have to "fix"
my iriver is only 5 gig so it's small. i didn't feel the need to have my whole music collection on there so it works
