then just don't read 'reading lolita in tehran' and 'portrait of an artist'. 'Guns, Germs and Steel' is hefty but good. 'Trainspotting' I hear is impossible to understand cause he writes the words with a scottish accent. I could never finish Catch-22, but always mean to and 'Farenheit 451' is short and a fine read. There.

Wait... you never read Swann's Way?

I liked Portrait of the Artist... but I know a lot of people didn't.

Read McSweeney's Issue 19.

Portrait is the worst book on the face of the earth. James Joyce needs to be tortured to death... I mean, if he were still alive.
100 Years is fabulous. I loved it, and I never like school books.
I'm going to try reading Swann's Way. We can do it together!

Well I really liked Ulysses, so I feel like I kind of have to read Portrait.
